What happens to your email address
Short version: the newsletter form sends your address to Mailchimp so Lucy can email you about books. Nothing else on this site collects anything.

What is collected
Only the email address you type into the newsletter form, and the moment you submitted it. Nothing else. This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies, and it sets nothing in your browser.
Where it goes
Straight from this website to Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp), which hosts Lucy Connelly’s mailing list and sends the newsletter. Your address is stored there as a contact in her audience. Mailchimp acts as the processor; Lucy Connelly is the controller. Mailchimp’s own privacy notice is at intuit.com/privacy/statement.
There is no server-side code on this website and no database — the form posts directly to Mailchimp’s public signup endpoint, so no copy of your address is kept here.
What it is used for
To email you about new books, cover reveals, tour dates and events. Nothing else. Your address is never sold, rented or shared with anyone other than the mailing provider above.
Unsubscribing, and your rights
Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link and one click is enough. You can also ask to be removed, ask for a copy of what is held about you, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to candacehavensbooks@gmail.com.
Links to other sites
Book pages link to Amazon, and some pages link to event organisers or streaming platforms. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this notice does not cover. No affiliate tracking is used — the Amazon links carry no affiliate tag.
Fonts and hosting
The typefaces are served from this site’s own hosting rather than a third-party font service, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.
